Man Utd head coach Ruben Amorim acknowledges he is unable to conceal from his troubling statistics and states it is understandable that club legends are criticizing him.
Recently, United's all-time goalscorer Wayne Rooney mentioned during his podcast that "the soul has vanished" from his old team.
The Portuguese manager has secured just 18 victories from his 49 games in charge, featuring 9 out of 33 in the English top flight, where he has yet to secure two successive wins.
While high-level Old Trafford sources are insistent that the club owner is still supportive the manager, failure to overcome recently promoted their next opponents on the weekend will spark fresh speculation about his position heading into another fortnight pause in domestic football.
"It is normal," commented the Portugal-born coach, when questioned about Rooney's remarks. "You can't hide from the performance."
"Additionally you have the baggage from the previous campaign, [although] last season for me is irrelevant."
Fan Reaction and Current Situation
Manchester United's supporters remained supportive of their manager following last season's poor showing, when they finished 15th in the table - their poorest performance since the 1973/74 relegation season - and were beaten in the Europa League final, in the belief that the current campaign would be substantially better.

That is not been how the first six games have unfolded as Manchester United have experienced three defeats already and sit fourteenth in the table.

When questioned what assurances he could offer supporters that the situation will improve, the manager continued: "It's not moment to talk, it is the time to show."
"Personally review the matches this season and, for me, they are entirely different, but I have little to say at the current time."
