Nearly 25,000 Left Without Power in Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Intense Storms
Around twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland found themselves without power on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms passed over the state, producing wind gusts hitting over 100 km/h.
Large Ice Stones and Extensive Impact
Locals reported giant hailstones as large as 7cm in some areas. Meteorological experts announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by significant hail.

Emergency crews were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the affected regions, with dozens of response units deployed to address the widespread outages.
Victorian Weather Woes
At the same time, around one thousand residents in Victoria also experienced energy failures after the capital city saw its wettest day in 18 months.
Emergency response teams handled over five hundred emergency reports across the region, mainly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

- Hoppers Crossing - numerous rescue reports
- Wyndham - 179 emergency requests
At the height on yesterday, more than 28,000 energy customers in the state were lacking electricity.
Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along much of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent thunderstorm potential anticipated across multiple regions of both areas.
Medical Alert
Health officials warned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This caution comes after past events where similar conditions led to significant health impacts in the state.
